Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE: RKUS) announced today that the City of San Leandro has selected, deployed and standardized a new, free outdoor Smart Wi-Fi service, which is the first of its kind in the Bay Area that is gigabit-capable, leveraging the new 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard. San Leandro becomes the eighth city within the San Francisco Bay Area to have selected Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi as the foundation for their public Wi-Fi network infrastructures. Other cities include San Jose, San Francisco, Mountain View, Hayward, Redwood City, San Mateo and Belmont, CA.
